The main entrance is located at the front of the PE hall on Phelan’s Path slip road.

  • School starts: 8:50am (Supervision begins from 8:40am)

  • Pupils must not be dropped off earlier than 8:40am

  • Hub Classes: 9:00am

  • Infant Classes finish: 1:30pm

  • 1st to 6th Classes finish: 2:30pm

  • New Junior Infants finish earlier for the first two weeks in September

  • No parent parking on the school grounds

  • Available parking is located on the main road (permit holders only)

  • No double parking, block parking, zigzags or grass verges

  • Walk, cycle or scoot if possible

  • Bike/scooter parking provided

  • Safety is a priority — please follow all parking guidelines

We use Aladdin Connect for:

  • Updates and alerts

  • Messaging teachers

  • Booking meetings

  • Online payments

Additional communication:

Waterford ETNS is a cash-free school — all payments go through Aladdin.

We follow a Restorative Practice model guided by the core values:

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for active learning

  • PE days: tracksuits and runners

  • Long hair tied back daily

  • We encourage Healthy Lunches

  • No nuts or nut products

  • Reusable containers only

  • Hot meals available daily via the Carambola App

  • A small snack for first break

  • Drinks must be water only

  • Order lunches via the Carambola app

  • Meals are delivered fresh daily

  • If no order is placed, the default meal is provided

  • For issues, contact Carambola directly

  • All schoolbooks and copies are provided under the Free Schoolbooks Scheme
  • Parents purchase stationery items (see class booklists page)
  • Voluntary contribution is welcomed via Aladdin

Designated staff members:

  • DLP: Patrick Pender

  • DDLP: Dearbhail Ivin

All concerns must be reported to the DLP/DDLP.

  • Keep your child at home

  • For vomiting or diarrhoea — stay home for 48 hours after the last episode

  • Inform the school of infectious illnesses

  • Record absences on Aladdin

  • Message through Aladdin Connect

  • For meetings or concerns, email the school office

  • Waterford ETNS has an active P.A.

  • Parents are encouraged to get involved in school events and initiatives

  • Pack bags the night before

  • Practise independence skills (coats, shoes, zips)

  • Encourage confidence with small tasks

  • Talk positively about school

  • Ensure children know who is collecting them

  • All children enter through the front door from 8:40am

  • Junior & Senior Infants go straight to classrooms

  • 1st–6th Classes go to their usual yard areas

  • Rear gates remain closed in the morning

Collection points:

  • Hub pupils: Hub gate

  • Junior & Senior Infants + 1st–3rd Classes: Front entrance

  • 4th–6th Classes: Rear metal gate

Tips:

    • Collect younger siblings first

    • Infants handed directly to a known adult

    • 2nd–6th Class pupils walk out independently to meet their adult
