We are a GREEN school and we have been awarded another green flag as at June 2023, this time for Biodiversity!
From the start of our school in September 2002, environmental awareness and green issues were at the heart of our vision. In September 2007, we made a decision to formally start the process of application for a green flag.
It was our aim to achieve a green flag before the first group of junior infants who joined the school in 2002, graduate from sixth class in June 2010.
And we achieved our goal.
On Thursday, 10th June 2010 the Green Flag was hoisted over Waterford Educate Together N.S.
In 2011 we began working towards our second green flag which was awarded to us in June 2012 following our “Switch It Off” campaign.
We have achieved flags for water and travel and this year 2022/23 we are working towards our biodiversity flag. Thanks to the hard work of our Parent Association we have a fantastic garden. We plan to develop it further in the coming years.
